Overview

Gas Line Pressure Testing Services for LPG, nitrogen, argon, helium and zero-air lines, with testing for leaks/defects to regulatory and safety standards; suitable bidders are CIDB Grade 1 Mechanical Engineering Works, registered with SAGA, with demonstrable gas-line testing experience.

Who should bid: construction/engineering service providers with CIDB 1 mechanical works, SAGA registration, and relevant gas pressure-testing experience.

Requirements

• CIDB registration: valid Grade 1 Mechanical Engineering Works (pipelines, gas transmission/distribution).
• SAGA registration.
• Relevant experience: at least one client reference letter (dated, on client letterhead, signed) confirming gas-line inspection/pressure testing.
• Mandatory bid documents and compliance:
  • Original Tax Clearance
  • BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
  • Municipal rates statement (not older than 90 days, in arrears rule where applicable)
  • MBD 4 (Declaration of Interest)
  • MBD 8 (Declaration of SCM practices)
  • MBD 9 (Certificate of Independent Bid Determination)
  • Proof of CSD registration / supplier number
  • MBD 6.1 (Preference points form)
  • Company registration documents with IDs of directors
  • JV agreement if applicable
• Compliance with Johannesburg Water’s supply chain and related rules; no bid from persons in the state service.

Note: Safety/SHE requirements apply as per the Minimum SHE Requirements for Construction RFQ projects (SHE file, risk assessments, medicals, PPE, inductions, etc.). See the attached SHE specification and annexures for full obligations.

How to Apply

• Submission method: exclusively via the E-tender Portal; email submissions not accepted.
• Compulsory briefing/site visit: 18 June 2026, 10:00 at Cydna Laboratory, 75 Fourth Street, Houghton (RFQ document).
• Documents to complete/submit (where applicable): as listed under Requirements (MBD forms, CSD, tax, BBBEE, etc.) and any attachments specified in the RFQ.
• Registrations: ensure CSD registration; CIDB/SAGA credentials must be current.
