Overview

Procurement of twenty-eight thousand (28,000) handheld laser barcode scanners to be used with IEC tablets via USB Type-C. Bidders experienced in ICT hardware, barcode-scanner supply, and government procurement with certification to meet 1D ID document reading, data security, and IP54 ruggedization should consider bidding. Sample submission is mandatory, and each scanner must bear the Electoral Commission logo (IEC). Bids are submitted online via the VotaQuotes e-Procurement system.

Requirements

• 1D ID book/card scanning capability; high accuracy in low light; anti-glare; fast read speeds.
• Rugged, ergonomic ABS design; drop tested to 1.5 m; IP54 dust/moisture protection.
• USB Type-C interface; secure data transmission compliant with IEC information security standards; no driver installation required.
• Compatibility with Windows, Android, Linux; Plug and Play.
• Each scanner must carry the Electoral Commission logo; sample must be submitted; samples not returned.
• Bidder must provide OEM or distributor reseller authorization; provide references and datasheet/brochure.
• Delivery within four weeks of PO; delivery to National Warehouse (Sunderland Ridge/Centurion).
• Online submission on VotaQuotes; adhere to Appendix A (tech), Appendix B (pricing) and delivery schedules; tax and CSD compliance required.
