Overview

Procurement of a 3-year backup, disaster recovery and cyber recovery solution, to be supplied, installed, supported and maintained by a single service provider. The University of the Witwatersrand (via PURCO SA) seeks a SA-registered IT services vendor with proven backup/recovery, cyber recovery and cloud recovery capabilities, OEM accreditation, data privacy compliance (POPIA/GDPR), appropriate insurance and solid financials to deliver a full solution over 36 months.

Requirements

• South African registered entity; proof of CIPC registration and directors list.
• Proof of SARS Tax PIN and VAT registration; rationale if not VAT registered.
• Financial statements for the past 3 years; audited/reviewed or justified; Public Interest Score noted.
• Annexure C: full pricing schedule.
• Demonstrated experience: minimum 5 years in backup/recovery; 3–5 years in cyber recovery; 5+ years in cloud recovery.
• Minimum three (3) contactable references for backup/recovery on 100+ servers; plus references for cloud storage, cloud recovery and cyber recovery.
• Current OEM accreditation/certification for the proposed solution.
• Data privacy compliance (POPIA/GDPR).
• Organogram and summary CVs for key staff (roles, qualifications, certifications, experience).
• Compliance with Annexure F (compliance schedule) and at least 80% of non-mandatory criteria.
• B-BBEE certificate (SANAS) or sworn affidavit if EME/QSE; insurance coverage as required; and other standard pre-qualifications as per Annexure B.
• No joint ventures allowed; no subcontracting under this tender.
