INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICE

Overview

Integrated Waste Management Service for the University of the Western Cape, covering all designated waste streams and related ancillary functions. Open tender for suitably qualified providers to deliver end-to-end waste management across UWC properties. Eligible bidders must have at least 3 years’ proven experience in a project of similar size, and operate within or have an established presence in the City of Cape Town.

Requirements

• At least three (3) years proven experience in a similar size/operational scope.
• Based in or have an established operational presence within the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality.
• Ability to perform collection, segregation, handling, storage, transport, treatment, recovery, recycling and lawful disposal of all designated waste streams (general, recyclable, organic/garden, hazardous, healthcare risk/laboratory, electronic, specialised).
• Supply, installation, maintenance and management of waste receptacles, recycling stations, skips, compactors, specialised containers, signage and labelling.
• Waste Information Management and reporting (auditable records, manifests, disposal certificates, monthly reports, IPWIS data capture).
• Compliance with environmental, health and safety, labour, transport and municipal requirements; mobilisation, emergency response, business continuity, performance management, sustainability, continuous improvement.
