Overview

Maintenance of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) at Cape Town International Airport for a 12-month period. This NEC3 Term Service Contract (TSC) covers preventive and corrective AGL maintenance; amendments to core clauses are included (see Rec 73908 NEC AIRFIELD GROUND LIGHTING (AGL) MAINTEANNCE- Rev.pdf). Target bidders are contractors with CIDB grading 3EB or higher and demonstrated AGL expertise, including PAPI calibration and electrical/maintenance competencies.

Requirements

• CIDB grading of 3EB or higher.
• Demonstrated competence in AGL maintenance, CCR maintenance, and PAPI light calibration; OEM calibration certification required (and AGL training certificates 1–3).
• Electrician capabilities: SAQA-qualified with relevant trade certificates; appropriate electrical qualifications; trade test certificates.
• A maintenance program and schedule showing quarterly calibrations and twice-monthly verifications.
• Insurance: aviation liability cover min R300,000; provide proof of insurance before work starts and annually.
• Tax/Regulatory: tax compliance status (PIN) via SARS; CSD number if no PIN; appropriate tender registrations.
• Compliance with NEC3 TSC and the employer’s amendments (Z clauses), confidentiality, ethics, dispute resolution, and safety requirements.

• Documents to submit: Form of Offer and Acceptance; Pricing/Activity Schedules; Service Information; Site Information; CIDB certificate; proof of tax compliance (PIN) or CSD number; B-BBEE documentation; all returnable documents (as per Part T2).
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CIDB 3EB; Tax Compliance Status (PIN) or CSD number; potentially other registration data as per tender data.
• Briefing/site info: Non-compulsory briefing on 9 July 2026 at 10:00 (Teams and in person); site inspection immediately after; compulsory. Clarifications are due by 14 July 2026.
