Overview

The SAMRC seeks proposals to develop and produce custom monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) and stable expressing clones thereof as reagents for a diagnostic test. The effort targets two human-origin proteins for a sandwich lateral flow assay; expected deliverables include 2–3 monoclonal clones per target, purified antibody preparations, master stocks, and an analytical/validation report. Submissions are via the SAMRC Supplier Portal with a closing date of 21 August 2026 at 10:00.

Requirements

• Proven ability to generate/identify monoclonal antibodies against two antigens, with 2–3 clones per antigen, plus master stocks and purified preparations suitable for conjugation and nitrocellulose immobilization.
• Demonstrate antibody pair screening for non-overlapping epitopes and compatibility with sandwich lateral flow assays; deliver QC data and methodology.
• Antibody specs: >95% purity, minimum 3 mg per clone at 8 mg/mL in PBS, pH 7.2, carrier-free (no BSA, no sodium azide).
• Infrastructure and quality systems: accredited systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or GMP advantageous).
• Eligibility prerequisites: registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD), tax compliant, BBBEE status, CIDB if applicable, COIDA letter, authority from OEM/OSM if required, and at least 3 references.
