Overview

Upgrading of Kainuk – Lokichar (A1) Road (75 km) is being procured as Lot 3 of the Multinational Kenya-South Sudan Road Corridor project. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) invites Open Competitive Bidding (International) for construction works with a 36-month program and 12-month defects period. Bidders may bid for one or more lots; there is a 10% domestic preference. Bids are non-electronic and must be submitted by 03 July 2026.

Requirements

• Eligibility and integrity: JV allowed; no conflict of interest; comply with Bank Integrity Framework; nationality as per Bank policy; not debarred.
• Bid security: KShs 160,000,000 or equivalent; validity beyond bid validity by 28 days; acceptable forms (bank guarantee, irrevocable L/C, etc.).
• Documentation: Letter of Bid, priced BoQ, Technical Bid, Commercial Terms, Joint Venture Agreement if JV, authorization, eligibility/qualifications, conformity, and any other BDS-required documents.
• Special conditions: 10% domestic preference; English bidding language; site access and pre-qualification rules as per AfDB SBD for Works.
• Bidding mode: Open Competitive Bidding (OCBI); no organized site visit required but site familiarization encouraged.
