OFMD Appointment of a reputable service provider for servicing/repair of compressed gas for a period of 5 years

Overview

Procurement of a service provider for servicing/repair of compressed gas bottles and gas systems for five years at the University of the Witwatersrand. Open competition to appoint a single vendor with demonstrable experience in compressed gas servicing, SAQCC Gas registration, Gauteng presence, adequate insurance, and a quality management framework. Mandatory briefing (22 Oct 2026) and submission by 04 Nov 2026; electronic submission per the University’s protocol. Returnable documents include Annexure A (Scope of Work), Annexure B (Returnable Schedules), Annexure C (Pricing), and Annexure D (Draft Contract). Candidates should align pricing to Annexure C and ensure compliance with pre-qualification criteria.

Requirements

• At least 5 years’ track record servicing/maintaining compressed gas bottles (commercial/industrial).
• Minimum 3 recent client references (last 5 years), one in Gauteng; each project value ≥ R200,000.
• Presence in Gauteng (evidence such as lease/utility bill).
• At least one technician registered with SAQCC Gas (provide registration number and ID).
• Insurance: public liability ≥ R20 million and product liability ≥ R5 million; if not currently in place, provide a commitment letter with a plan to attain.
• Pre-qualification: signed authorisation, SA registration (CIPC), SARS tax pin, VAT details if applicable, audited financials for last 3 years (or explanation and PI score), letter of good standing from bank, COIDA proof.
• Annexure C Pricing Schedule submitted in editable XLS and PDF.
• Compliance with Tender Terms & Conditions and pre-qualification criteria (Annexure B).
