Overview

Fire protection system design services for the OBP site, including submission of a proposed technical solution and design for fire protection systems. Suitable bidders are fire protection engineering firms or consultancies with professional registration (ECSA) and the ability to produce site assessments, calculations, drawings, and authority submissions, and to meet OBP’s pre-qualification requirements (CSD registration, tax clearance, insurance, CVs, etc.).

Requirements

• Compulsory professional registrations: ECSA (Professional Engineer/Technologist) and proof of registration; otherwise non-compliant.
• SA registrations: Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration and tax compliance; foreign entities to complete SBD1.
• Insurance: Public liability up to R10 million (not older than 12 months).
• Documentation: Reference letters; CVs with qualifications; COID letter of good standing; methodology and approach; signed tender submission; site briefing attendance.
• Compulsory documents: One original + 3 copies; evidence of CSD registration and tax compliance; SBD forms (SBD1 if foreign, SBD4, SBD6.1, SBD8, SBD9); pricing schedule.
• Technical compliance: Must demonstrate capability to design fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, detection, pumps, passive protection) in line with NFPA/SANS/City by-laws and deliverables (design reports, stamped drawings, BOQ).
• Must comply with OBP terms and conditions, including non-disclosure of confidential material and access to sites as required.

• Deadline: Submissions close 28 October 2026 at 13:00; responses must be hand-delivered/couriered to OBP, no fax/email submissions.
• Submission format: One original + 3 copies; sign the tender submission register at reception.
• Documents to submit: SBD 4, SBD 6.1, SBD 8, SBD 9, pricing schedule; CVs and qualifications of key personnel; methodology & approach; reference letters; COID; ECSA registration; proof of CSD and tax clearance.
