RFI to gather information on an Open System Backup Solution to replace LTO tape backups with disk-based, cloud-enabled, or hybrid technologies. This is issued by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) for vendors with backup/data protection expertise, including disk-based/hybrid architectures, deduplication, encryption, and SA market presence; suitable for enterprise/broadcast storage modernization.

Requirements

• Company profile: history in backup and data protection, relevant certifications/partnerships, local SA presence.
• Proposed solution details: disk-based/hybrid/cloud-enabled backup; architectural and deployment model; data deduplication, compression, encryption; compatibility with backup management software; performance benchmarks and scalability; security features (in-flight and at-rest encryption, access controls).
• Implementation and support: deployment timelines, methodology; professional services (consulting, installation, training); local support and SLAs.
• Pricing structure: hardware, software licenses, maintenance; any subscription/cloud service fees.
• Client references: case studies from similar enterprise or broadcast-sector clients.
