Overview

Procurement of the Palmiet Power Station Fire Detection System installation, testing and commissioning. Eskom invites bids from qualified construction/engineering bidders with CIDB 5SF or higher (or eligible JV with lead partner meeting 4SF and combined 5SF) to implement the Fire Detection System under NEC3 Term Services Contract. A compulsory site clarification meeting is required (see attached ITT).

• Target bidders: electrical/instrumentation/fire-detection system integrators with relevant CIDB and safety/quality capabilities.
• Submission: via Eskom E-tendering; check for addenda (see Invitation to Tender Rev 28).

Requirements

• CIDB: main contractor 5SF or higher (or JV with lead 4SF and combined 5SF, plus 21-day registration window if applicable).
• Compliance: meet Eskom’s standard tender conditions (no conflicts of interest; proper documentation).
• Mandatory returnables: complete and submit per tender data; CIDB proof is required.
• Certifications/registrations: CSD registration; tax clearance; SBD forms; integrity and safety documentation.
• Additional: NEC3 Term Services Contract; CIDB CSDG/CPG considerations as applicable; safety and quality plans.

• Submission method: electronic via Eskom E-tendering; PDFs (with price list in PDF and Excel) and no hard copies.
• Documents to submit: Annexures A–J, SBD 1, SBD 6.1, SBD 4, pricing schedules (PDF + Excel), CIDB proof, CSD tax docs, Integrity Pact, safety/quality documents. (Annexures listed in ITT)
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CSD registration; CIDB grading as required; tax clearance.
• Briefing: site clarification meeting on 17 July 2026 at Palmiet Pumped Storage Scheme; attendance compulsory; confirm by 16 July 12:00 with Eskom representatives.
