Overview

ThisTender is for a performance-based contract for the maintenance of road lighting on Ole Sereni – Ngong Road Interchange (A8S) Road (all sections). Eligible bidders are construction companies registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in Electrical classes and with EPRA in Class A, B or C; the contract covers maintenance (with possible rehabilitation/improvement works) funded through the Road Maintenance Fuel Levy Fund.

Requirements

• Mandatory bid documents to submit with the bid:
  • Copy of Certificate of Incorporation
  • Copy of valid NCA Annual Practising Licence (Electrical classes)
  • Copy of valid EPRA Annual Practising Licence (Electrical classes)
  • Copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate
  • Copy of recent CR 12 form (issued within 6 months)
  • Serialisation of all tender pages
  • Copy of PBC Certificate for at least one Director
• Other eligibility and qualification criteria:
  • Similar previous experience; qualified technical personnel; current workload
  • Bidder limits: maximum two tenders per bidder; directors of awarded bidders in FY 2025-2026 ineligible to bid; JV rules apply; local content and national registrations required (NCA, EPRA, tax)
  • Foreign bidders must meet 40% local input requirement
  • NCA registration required to undertake contract if awarded
  • Compliance with PPADA and Competition Act provisions; no canvassing
• Documentation for JV if applicable; Form of Joint Venture Agreement or Intent to Execute

• Submission: one original in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked with tender name and reference; submit to the Nairobi Regional Office or Tender Box as specified (TENDER DOCUMENT).
• Key dates: submission deadline is 16 July 2026 at 09:00 (TENDER DOCUMENT). There is a mandatory pre-tender site visit; questions/clarifications to procurement@kenha.co.ke (TENDER DOCUMENT).
