Overview

Procurement of Pest Control Services for the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa (NARSSA) facilities, including perimeter chemical treatments and fumigation to protect archival materials, for a 36-month period. Eligible bidders are pest-control service providers with a valid Pest Control Operator license or Department of Agriculture registration, capable of servicing three Pretoria facilities (NARSSA, NFVSA, Old State Library Building) and complying with health, safety, and security requirements for archival environments. Requirements

• Valid Pest Control Operator license / DA registration; certified copies required.
• Compliance with safety and preservation rules: no banned chemicals (DDT, Methyl bromide, Hydrogen Cyanide); perimeter spray only unless properly approved; no treatment on archival records.
• No work while staff/visitors are in buildings; treatments may occur on Saturdays; all three facilities must be treated the same day.
• Provide a Supervisor per facility; DSAC-appointed supervisor on site.
• Provide PPE and safety guidelines; sign-off for PPE distribution to NARSSA staff.
• Financial: no 50% upfront; payment after each service; attach signed job cards with invoices.
• Security and confidentiality: disclose company details; maintain confidentiality; ensure subcontractor compliance if applicable.
• Site visit: compulsory; proof of attendance required with quotation.
• Specific goals (SMMEs, women, black ownership, youth, disabilities) with 80/20 (or 90/10) preference; provide CIPC ownership proof and BBBEE documentation to claim points.
