Overview

Procurement of placement of HLA (Human Leucocyte Antigen) Typing and Antibodies Analysers for the Braamfontein Immunology Laboratory, including reagents, consumables, service and maintenance for a period of five years. The NHLS invites bids from suppliers of immunology instrumentation and related services, with enabling requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, regulatory approvals) and ongoing consumables support.

Requirements

• Instrument platform must have an XY platform that accepts 96-well plates and support molecular HLA typing (Class I/II) plus bead-based antibody identification.
• Sensitivity and detection: report 1000 fluorochromes per bead; dynamic range ≥4.5 logs; detect wavelength >530 nm; two lasers capable of exciting two fluorochromes; read up to 500 beads.
• Bi-directional LIS interface and ability to download archived QC data; sample uptake 20–200 µL; automated data management and QC modules; automated startup/shutdown.
• Be capable of reading 96-well plates within a target timeframe; provide automated sampling and maintenance capabilities; include reagents, consumables, calibration materials, and QC materials.
• Upgradeability: hardware/software must be upgradeable/upscalable; all modules and consumables required for operation must be included in the bid price.
• Compliance and approvals: ISO 13485, IMDRF regulatory approvals (certificate from one listed authority), environmental/OSH certifications (ISO 14001, OHS), and supplier to provide proof.
• Submissions must meet tax/compliance (Tax Clearance or CSD), BBBEE, and related mandatory documents; compliance with NHLS general and special contract terms.
