Overview

NHLS invites bids for Placement / Outright Purchase of a Digital Pathology Scanning Solution across multiple NHLS sites, including consumables, service and maintenance for five years. The bid covers George Mukhari, Polokwane, Tshwane Academic Division, several major hospitals and NIOH (Braamfontein), with a 5-year SLA and ongoing consumables. Bid number RFB033/26/27, closing 30 October 2026, with a compulsory briefing on 21 September 2026.

Requirements

• Tax and registration: provide Tax Compliance Status PIN or Tax Clearance; if a consortium, provide for each member; CSD registration where applicable.
• Compliance documentation: complete and sign all mandatory forms; adhere to PPPFA, GCC, and any special conditions.
• B-BBEE: provide valid B-BBEE status certificate or sworn affidavit; separate documentation for consortium members if applicable.
• Warranty and readiness: minimum 2-year warranty; supplier to visit listed labs to assess infrastructure and produce a detailed implementation plan; plan must accommodate lab operations during rollout.
• Security and governance: site/SSA security clearances as required; non-disclosure agreement for staff; adherence to confidentiality.
• Evaluation and contract: proposal must meet all mandatory requirements; price will be evaluated with a predefined scoring framework (price and preferential procurement; CFET process).
• Subcontracting: if used, provide signed subcontracts and co-signatures where required; primary contractor responsible for overall delivery.

• Documents to submit: one original, one hard copy, and one electronic copy (PDF on USB); pricing in a separate envelope; two-envelope submission (BID/Proposal Section and PRICING Section); pricing must follow the template (Annexure B) and be VAT inclusive where applicable.
