Overview

The City of Cape Town invites tenders for the restoration of Prestwich Memorial Building/s and site upgrades (construction works). Suitable bidders are construction contractors with CIDB grading 6GB or higher, registered on the City’s Supplier Database, and capable of meeting HDI/RDP procurement goals.

Requirements

• CIDB contractor grading designation: 6GB or higher.
• Registration on City of Cape Town Supplier Database (if not already registered; register upon written request).
• Compliance with SCM Policy and Preferential Procurement Regulations, including HDI/RDP goals.
• Site visit/clarification meeting: 10:00, 5 August 2026 at Prestwich Memorial; not compulsory but strongly recommended.

How to Apply

• Obtain tender documents from the Tender Distribution Office, Civic Centre, 12 Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town; hours 08:30–15:00 from 24 July 2026; non-refundable tender fee of R300 (cash or EFT) on collection. (see 30Q.2026.27 document)
• Submit a sealed envelope to Tender Box 206 at the Tender & Quotation Box Office, Civic Centre, before closing at 10:00 on 25 August 2026. Include tender number 30Q/2026/27 and the title. If too large, request alternative instructions at the public counter.
• Complete and submit the Form of Offer and Acceptance (C1.1) and all Returnable Documents (e.g., Bills of Quantities, Pricing data) as specified in the tender.
• Pre-qualifications/registrations: ensure Supplier Database registration and CIDB grade; HDI/RDP goals compliance.
• Briefing/site visit: attend the 5 August 2026 session at Prestwich Memorial gates (strongly recommended).
