Overview

Procurement of a contractor to supply, deliver and install LED lights at King Phalo Airport (shade parking, fire station, receivers, 11 substation, VOR Glide Path 11 and 29). Eligible bidders must hold CIDB Grade 2EB or higher and have proven LED lighting, electrical/substation, high-mast/shaded parking and emergency facilities experience.

Requirements

• CIDB Grade: 2EB or higher.
• Experience: LED lighting supply/installation, electrical works in substations, high-mast/shaded parking lighting, emergency services facilities (e.g., fire station); provide 3+ client reference letters with project details.
• Personnel:
  • Project Manager: >=5 years in electrical/lighting projects; electrical engineering degree or equivalent; ECSA registration (Pr.Eng/Pr.TechEng or equivalent).
  • Site Supervisor: relevant electrical qualification (e.g., Red Seal/N3) and >=3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Safety Officer: SAMTRAC plus safety qualification (NQF5+ in Safety/OSH).
• Technical/Quality: LED luminaires compliant with SANS/IEC, appropriate IP ratings, surge protection, electrical safety features; installation methodology including risk assessment and disruption mitigation.
• Compliance: OHS Act adherence, SABS-approved products, disposal of old fittings, testing and commissioning, confidentiality and contract adherence; plus insurance and contract data as specified in the NEC3 ECC framework.

• Submission deadline: 07 August 2026 at 12:00. Submit bids by email to acsarfq@airports.co.za (and/or via the bid box per the tender data). Late submissions will not be considered.
• Documents to submit: Official bid forms (C1.1 Form of Offer and Acceptance and related C1/C2/C3/C4 documents), pricing schedules, returnable documents, and any required SBDs; include tax compliance details (SARS PIN or CSD number) and proof of registration where applicable (joint ventures require separate TCS/CSD for each party).
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: Tax compliance status (SARS PIN); CSD number if not using TCS; CIDB grade 2EB; B-BBEE evidence for preference points.
