Overview

Mintek invites proposals for the supply, delivery and installation-related services of a 3-core 11kV XLPE copper armoured HV cable (2 x 300 m spools, total 600 m) plus joint kits, trench-laying labour, testing, and related documentation for a generator HV cable project. Eligible bidders are electrical contractors with HV cable experience, capable of delivering to 11kV standards, and possessing a PrEng (or equivalent) for the project leadership, with current COIDA good standing, CSD registration, and tax compliance. The work must meet SANS 1339/IEC standards and carry the SABS mark.

Requirements

• HV cable specifics: 185 mm², 3-core, 11 kV armoured, SANS 1339, IEC standards, with SABS mark; two 300 m reels; two cable joint kits.
• Installation scope: labour and supervision to lay in a trench (Mintek-provided trench), with 2 weeks’ notice to lay and 5 working days for completion.
• Testing and documentation: VLF testing, continuity tests, engineering certificates; type test reports and factory certificates; product data sheets.
• Qualifications and compliance: valid COIDA good standing; Professional Electrical Engineer (Pr. Eng) on the project team; CSD and tax compliance where applicable.
• Tender process and criteria: adhere to 80/20 PPPFA scoring; minimum 70 points for functionality; lead times commitment; testimonials, engineer experience, and lead times form part of functionality.
• General terms: warranty and contractual terms as per GCC; risk, penalties, and dispute provisions apply.
