Overview

This RFQ seeks professional services for a multi-disciplinary professional team to extend the Johannesburg Zoo Gorilla Enclosure (Phase 2). Bidders should be multi-disciplinary built-environment firms capable of Architectural, Civil & Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, and Construction Health & Safety, with appropriate SAQA accreditation if outside South Africa, and registration with SACAP/ECSA/SACQSP where applicable.

Requirements

• A multi-disciplinary team including: Architect, Structural Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, and Construction Health & Safety specialist (Key Personnel).
• Mandatory registrations and accreditations: SACAP, ECSA, SACQSP; SAQA accreditation for foreign qualifications; Proof of CSD registration.
• Administrative documents: valid proof of address for directors, COIDA/Good Standing, shareholder IDs, JV agreement (if applicable), ID copies, and complete tender documentation.
• Compliance: no correction fluid; all corrections initialed; complete BOQ/spec (where relevant); all MBD forms submitted.
• Site attendance: at least one professional engineer must attend the compulsory clarification/site briefing.
• Special insurance/quality: Professional Indemnity insurance (post-award, before construction); regulatory body submissions (e.g., ECSA) as required.
• Evaluation: 80/20 or 90/10 preference rules; documentation to support specific goals (e.g., 51%+ women-owned, locality within COJ) as applicable.
• Documentation and submission integrity: sealed submissions; may be rejected if any regulation defaults occur.

• Submission deadline: 3 September 2026 at 12:00; submit in the quotation box at the entrance of JCPZ House, 40 De Korte Street, Braamfontein, on the closing date between 8:00–12:00. No late submissions. (see JCPZ-RFQ-CID01-2026.pdf)
• Briefing: compulsory site briefing 31 August 2026 at 10:30 at the CID Offices, JHB Zoo. (see JCPZ-RFQ-CID01-2026.pdf)
• Documents to complete/submit: official bid forms MBD1, MBD3.1 (pricing), MBD4 (Declaration of Interest), MBD6.1 (Preference Points), MBD8 (Past SCM Practices), MBD9 (Independent Bid Determination). Return all forms with the quotation.
• Registrations: provide CSD vendor number; submit TCS/PIN for SARS; where applicable, provide SA SAQA accreditation for foreign qualifications.
