Overview

The Kiambu County Government invites bids for the PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A MODEL TWIN ECDE CLASSROOMS WITH OFFICES AND AN ABLUTION BLOCK AT RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY ECDE IN HOSPITAL WARD. This is an Open National Tender, reserved for AGPO – WOMEN; suitable for ECDE or civil works contractors, including joint ventures, with relevant construction experience and registrations.

Requirements

• Eligibility: AGPO Women reservations; joint ventures allowed with joint and several liability; representative for JV; max number of JV members as per TDS.
• Compliance: not debarred by PPRA; no corrupt, coercive, obstructive, collusive, or fraudulent practices; Certificate of Independent Tender Determination.
• Local content: foreign bidders must source at least 40% of inputs from Kenyan suppliers/contractors.
• Registrations: National Construction Authority (NCA) registration required before contract award; tax clearance certificate.
• Subcontracting: JV rules apply; foreign subcontracting limits (not more than 10% of contract price to foreign firms).
• Documentation and validity: Form of Tender, priced Bill of Quantities, Tender Security or Tender-Securing Declaration; Joint Venture Agreement if applicable; all pages serialized; tender validity as specified (126 days).
• Site considerations: site visit encouraged; pre-tender meeting details to be provided in the TDS.
• Currency and pricing: bids in Kenya Shillings; inclusive of taxes.
