Overview

The Kiambu County Government invites bids for the PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A MODEL TWIN ECDE CLASSROOMS WITH OFFICES AND AN ABLUTION BLOCK AT GITUTHA ECDE IN NDEIYA WARD (FY 2026/2027). Open national tender reserved for AGPO – WOMEN; works contract to construct twin ECDE classrooms with offices and ablution facilities at Gitutha ECDE, Ndeiya Ward.

Requirements

• Eligibility: open tender with AGPO – WOMEN reservation; JV allowed with a designated representative and joint venture agreement.
• Compliance: declare non-collusion, independence, and comply with PPRA and Kenya Competition Act requirements.
• National content: foreign bidders must source at least 40% of inputs from Kenyan suppliers; evidence required.
• Registration: National Construction Authority registration before contract award (not a tender condition).
• Tax: valid tax clearance certificate.
• Local participation: suitably eligible Kenyan nationals or joint ventures with Kenyan ownership rules.
• Tender security: provide Tender Security or Tender-Securing Declaration as per TDS.
• Language: English; site visit and/or pre-tender meeting details to be specified in the TDS.
• Documentation: complete Form of Tender and schedules, BoQ, JV documents if applicable, and conform to technical proposal requirements.

• Deadline: 28 August 2026, 10:00 (closing date/time stated in the ITT; late tenders rejected).
• Submission: Drop-off sealed bidding envelopes in the Kiambu HQ Tender Box (Ground Floor, Main Reception, Governor’s Office). Public opening after deadline.
• Electronic option: may be allowed if specified in the TDS.
• Documents to submit (as per ITT 13.1): Form of Tender, priced Bill of Quantities, Tender Security or declaration, JV agreement if applicable, authorization, qualifications, technical proposal, and any other TDS-listed documents. Chronologically serialize pages.
