Overview

Open national tender for the improvement of drainage and pedestrian walkways in Kitui Municipality under the Kenya Urban Support Programme II (KUSP II). The works cover drainage and pedestrian walkways from AIC Junction to Kanda Supermarket (RHS) and along the hospital wall toward KCRH gate up to KMTC junction. Suitable bidders are civil-works contractors with local and/or eligible foreign participation; participation may be via a Joint Venture.

Requirements

• Eligibility: open to private firms, state-owned entities or individuals; joint ventures allowed with a designated Representative; no disqualifications for public officers or conflicts of interest.
• Qualifications: evidence of eligibility and qualifications per the tender documents; JV agreements or letters of intent if forming a JV.
• Registrations: National Construction Authority registration before contract award; tax compliance certificate.
• Local content: foreign bidders must demonstrate at least 40% local inputs (supplies, subcontractors, and labor).
• Tender security: KShs 400,000 (tender bond or equivalent); security valid through tender validity.
• Compliance: declarations on corruption/fraud; adherence to procurement and competition laws; ability to permit audits if requested.
