Proposed Renovation and Modernization of a Bakery at Machakos Teachers College

Overview

Open tender to renovate and modernize the Bakery at Machakos Teachers College. Eligible bidders include local and foreign firms meeting ITT provisions (non-debarment, no conflicts of interest, compliance with laws); foreign bidders must meet local capacity/registration requirements. Requirements

• Compliance with ITT eligibility (non-debarment, no conflicts of interest, lawful conduct).
• Foreign bidders: source at least 40% of contract inputs from Kenyan suppliers/contractors.
• Tax clearance certificate or exemption.
• National Construction Authority registration required before contract award.
• Bid security: KSh 50,000 (form: cash, bank cheque, bank guarantee, or acceptable alternative).
• Tender validity: 126 days from tender opening.
• Joint ventures allowed; maximum JV members open.
• Goods/works origin not restricted beyond debarment rules; local content rules apply to foreign bidders. (see STD/5, STD/9–STD/11)

How to Apply

• Obtain tender documents for KSh 1,000 non-refundable at the procurement office, or download free from mateco.ac.ke or PPIP; electronically issued documents are free but tender must be submitted in hard copy. (see STD/5)
• Completion: submit Form of Tender, priced Bills of Quantities, Tender Security, JV documents if any, authorization, qualifications, technical proposal, and any other documents listed in the tender data. Serialise pages. (see STD/13–STD/16)
• Submission: sealed tender to the Machakos Teachers College tender box by 6 November 2026 at 1100 hours; no electronic submission. (see STD/5, STD/23–STD/24)
• Site visits: allowed at bidders’ own expense during tender period; no mandatory pre-tender meeting. (see STD/8, STD/7)
• Addresses: obtain/submit to Machakos Teachers College, P.O. Box 124-90100, Machakos. Opening of tenders is public. (see STD/5, STD/27)
