Overview

PROVISION OF AIR CONDITIONING MAINTENANCE SERVICES INCLUDING SPARES FOR THE OFFICE AIR CONDITIONERS CONTRACT FOR 60 MONTHS FOR TRANSNET PORT TERMINALS RICHARDS BAY. Bidders should be HVAC service providers with CIDB designation 4 ME or higher (or eligible to obtain before evaluation), and capable of meeting CIDB JV rules, specialist qualifications, and rigorous pre-qualification criteria. The contract is for 60 months at Transnet Port Terminals Richards Bay (TPT RCB) and responses are via the national e-tender portal.

Requirements

• CIDB eligibility: registered in CIDB at 4 ME or higher, or capable of being so before evaluation; JV rules apply; certified joint venture agreements if applicable.
• Specialists: contract manager NQF level 6 in Mechanical Engineering plus CV with ≥5 years HVAC design/service/maintenance.
• Technical staffing: three certificates for Air Conditioning & Refrigeration technicians with CVs showing ≥3 years each.
• Functionality: minimum 80 points to proceed to price/preference evaluation.
• Functionality criteria (from the RFP): five traceable references (past 10 years) for similar work; method statement; and a quality control plan addressing site operations, health and safety, organization, maintenance philosophy, and reporting.
• Compliance documents (returnable): valid Tax Clearance with TCS PIN; B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit for EMEs/QSEs; CIDB certificate; proof of CSD registration; Workmen’s Compensation letter; insurance; one-year audited financial statement. • Register on the Transnet e-Tender Submission Portal, log intent, and upload bid documents against TPT 2026/07/0002/114585/RFP. Submit well before 31 July 2026 16:00 (no late tenders).
• Ensure Returnable Documents (T2.2 series) are complete and signed as required. Tender validity is 12 weeks post closing; documents must be English.
