Overview

Provision of a KfW Imaging System for Nucleic acid/protein gels and Western blots at the Centre for Bioprocess Engineering Research, UCT, funded under a vaccine development project. The SAMRC issues a Request for Proposal for a lab imaging system; bids are invited from suppliers of imaging hardware and related software, including OEM/OS authorities, with strict eligibility, pricing and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration
• Tax compliance; tax status checked at award
• CIDB grading: minimum 1 or 2 for construction works (where applicable) and CIDB active in registration
• BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
• Original COIDA certificate or good standing
• Authority from OEM to sell/distribute/support the products and from the OS vendor for software
• At least 3 client references; potential JV agreements if applicable
• Signed Bidder’s Disclosure, SBD 6.1, General Conditions, and other standard bid documents
• POPIA compliance and associated data processing consent
• Price validity, delivery terms, and adherence to bid data (the acquisition is capped; proposals above R1,000,000 will not be accepted)
