Overview

Procurement of Electron Beam Welding Services for iThemba LABS (Faure, Western Cape) for 36 months on an as-and-when-required basis. Bidders should have EBW capability plus research and development welding/metallurgy skills (e.g., Niobium, Inconel 625), plus compliance with South African PPPFA 2022, B-BBEE, and SBD/CSD requirements. Target quantities: up to 180 targets per year; shipping managed by iThemba LABS.

Requirements

• Proven Electron Beam Welding of production targets, including: seal width 0.5 mm, no gallium creep (CT-check), helium leak test with certification, and capsules free of defects.
• R&D capability for new production targets and welding/metallurgy, including EBW, TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW; design/consultation services; experience with ferrrous, light, precious metals and alloys (e.g., Niobium, Inconel 625).
• Demonstrate welding capabilities via a company profile/portfolio; provide relevant certifications/qualifications.
• Administrative/compliance: complete SBD 4 and SBD 6.1; provide CSD Summary Report; BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; pricing using prescribed schedules; VAT-inclusive pricing; payment terms of 30 days from receipt of invoice; price validity at least 60 days.
• Registration/tax: on National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD) and tax-compliant status verification.
• Pricing and delivery: Yearly pricing for three years; include year-by-year totals; shipping costs to be borne by iThemba LABS (no bidder shipping cost).
