Overview

Provision of interment, cremation, exhumation and assisted burial services for indigent persons within the eThekwini Municipal area for 36 months. Open-Tender by the eThekwini Municipality. Suitable bidders are undertakers/funeral service providers with a valid Undertaker’s Certificate of Competency and capacity to manage municipal cemeteries and indigent burials, plus compliance with CSD, tax, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Valid Undertaker’s Certificate of Competency from the eThekwini Health Unit.
• Premises must pass site inspection (Section 10 Annexure A).
• Registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) as a service provider (MAAA number required).
• Tax Compliance Status PIN or Tax Clearance Certificate; SARS registration.
• VAT status and Declaration of Municipal Fees (or acknowledged debt).
• Occupational Health and Safety Act declaration and safety plan capability.
• Returnable documents: Authority of Signatory; Official Tender Form; MBD 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9; Joint Venture agreement if applicable; BBEE documentation.
• If applicable, joint venture documents and manufacturer/distributor agreements.
• Pricing consistency with the Official Tender Form; firm annual pricing options.
• Evaluation criteria: 80/20 price–preference system (subject to tender specifics); Specific Goals claims via MBD 6.1.
