Overview

Provision of plant hire services (12 months) for uMzimkhulu Local Municipality across four clusters, covering listed heavy equipment. Bidders should be reputable plant-hire providers with experience in road construction/maintenance, CSD registration, and capability to supply the required fleet. Clusters include: Cluster 1 (tipper trucks 10t and excavators), Cluster 2 (motor grader, path roller, water tanker, TLB), Cluster 3 (low bed truck), Cluster 4 (dozer, honey sucker, road-marking machine, cherry picker trailer). Requirements

• Registered on Central Suppliers Database (CSD) with proof or number.
• Submit MBD forms 4, 6.1, 8 & 9; Certificate of Authority to sign all documents; signed on company letterhead.
• Tender documents signed by an authorized person.
• 80/20 Preference Point System; functionality thresholds apply (min 20 points per segment, 67% threshold); 50% minimum per segment to avoid non-responsive status.
• Compulsory segment: Provision of relevant Plant & Equipment; bidders must prove ownership (logbook or proof of purchase) for required assets.
• Segment 1: Foreman/Supervisor experience (10 years preferred) + valid Code 8+ driver license; CVs and references.
• Segment 2: Operators/Drivers experience (10 years preferred) + certified competencies; Code 14 with PDP for truck drivers.
• Logbooks, certified competence certificates, and proof of driver licenses (PDP) to be provided (certified within 3 months of tender closing).
• Specific goals (RDP ownership, local presence) considered under 80/20 scoring.
