Overview

Provision of Substations, Office Repairs and Facility Maintenance Contract on an “as and when required” basis within the Gauteng Cluster for 36 months. The contract covers planned and reactive maintenance of Eskom substations, control rooms, and related buildings in the City of Johannesburg, including civil works, electrical maintenance, painting, fencing and related maintenance tasks. Suitable bidders are experienced construction/electrical and facilities-management contractors with proven Eskom-compliant health, safety and environmental practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in planned/unplanned maintenance and repairs of substations and related civil/electrical works.
• Compliance with Eskom SHE SPECIFICATION (SHE rules, COID, OHS Act, environmental requirements) and related procedures.
• Appointment of competent staff, including SACPCMP-registered safety officers and qualified first aid personnel.
• Baseline risk assessment (BRA) and an OHS plan for high-risk work, plus method statements and daily risk assessments.
• Valid COID Letters of Good Standing for the contractor and appointed subcontractors.
• Health and safety file, site inductions, safety committees, and ongoing SHE audits/inspections.
• Medical surveillance program including pre-employment and periodic medicals; medical certificates of fitness.
• Environmental management plan and adherence to Eskom environmental requirements.
• Section 37(2) agreements between Eskom, the principal contractor and appointed contractors.
