Provision of X-Ray & Metal Detector Machine on a Rental Basis for a Period of 12 Months

Overview

Provision of X-Ray & Metal Detector screening equipment on a 12-month rental basis, including delivery, installation, commissioning, maintenance and user training. The DBSA seeks a supplier to provide three X-ray baggage scanners and three walk-through metal detectors, with full service, support and training for the contract duration (RFQ073/2026). Bidders should have capability in security screening equipment and comply with SA regulatory requirements; South African bidders must be CSD-registered with Tax Compliance status and BBBEE verification; foreign bidders may participate only if they meet regulatory and tax requirements.

Requirements

• Compulsory site briefing attendance (Head office site; mandatory).
• SAHPRA/Radiation Control compliance for X-ray equipment.
• CSD registration and Tax Compliance status (PIN/TCS); BBBEE status verification certificate or sworn affidavit.
• For consortia, each party must provide separate TCS/PIN/CSD where applicable.
• Submit on official forms and annexures (Parts A–E; Annexures A–I); include SBD4, SBD6.1 and BBBEE documentation.
• Scope includes supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, maintenance, servicing, calibration, and training for 3 X-ray units and 3 metal detectors; ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Commercial rules: PPPFA 80/20 preference with BBBEE as specific goal; bids remain open for 90 days and may be negotiated per DBSA rights.
