Overview

APPOINTMENT OF SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR THE SUPPLY AND MAINTENANCE OF TWO MOUNT CHERRY PICKER TRAILERS (reach 18m) with training, warranty and a 3-year service plan. Bids are invited from suitably qualified organisations/consortia, with Retail Motor Industry accreditation, CSD registration, and proof of local Alfred Duma area presence.

Requirements

• Mandatory briefing: 30 September 2026 at 10:00 (attendance compulsory).
• Bidder must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide CSD/BBBEE documentation.
• Tax clearance: original SARS Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) required; separate certificates for JV/consortia.
• Up-to-date municipal rates and water statements where the bidder operates.
• Documentation: MBD 2, 4, 6.1, 7.2, 8, 9 plus forms and declarations; include JV details if applicable.
• Retail Motor Industry accreditation.
• Local procurement goals: HDI ownership and Alfred Duma location (RDP 15/20; Race 5/20; total 20 points for specific goals). Provide proof.
• Scope confirms: two mount cherry picker trailers (18m reach), electronically/fuel operated, white, spare tyre, on-site training for four, 3-year service plan, warranty; domestic built-up trailers not accepted.
• Bid validity: 120 days.

• Briefing: compulsory session 30 September 2026 at the Legal Services Boardroom (address in metadata).
• Submission: sealed bids with contract number clearly endorsed, deposited in the bid box at 221 Murchison Street, Ladysmith, by 23 October 2026 at 11:00; no fax/email bids.
• Documents to submit: rates/water statements, CSD, BBBEE certificate/sworn affidavit, Tax Clearance Certificate, JV details (if any), and all MBD forms (2, 4, 6.1, 7.2, 8, 9).
• Evaluation: 80/20 price/ownership; minimum 60% to proceed; points for HDI/RDP/ownership in line with regulations.
• Special Conditions: two trailers to be delivered within two months of order; SLA negotiations within 14 days of acceptance; penalties of 5% of the total order per day for delays. Special Conditions document also requires the 15% VAT to be shown separately and non-ceding of bid.
