Overview

The procurement is a rates-based contract to undertake maintenance repairs to roads and stormwater infrastructure in the North Central region of eThekwini Municipality for 36 months, with two regional contractors to be appointed and works issued as on-demand orders. Work scope includes roads, sidewalks, stormwater, guardrails, fencing, and related maintenance.

Who should bid: regional road and stormwater contractors with CIDB CE/6 or higher, capable of multi-site works, and able to operate under a two-contractor, works-order model.

Requirements

• CIDB: contractor grading designation of 6 or Higher, CE or higher.
• Compulsory Clarification Meeting: 11 August 2026, Engineering Training Centre, 11:00; clarifications posted 27 August 2026. (see 35901-1M Tender Document.pdf)
• Registration/verification: must be on National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and eThekwini Supplier Portal; JDE ESP access required.
• Compliance: Tax clearance, municipal rates/taxes clear, and B-BBEE as applicable; returnable forms/formal JV arrangements where relevant.
• Health & Safety: site Health & Safety Plan, fulltime Construction Safety Officer, COIDA good standing, Construction Work Permit, H&S file, and SACPCMP registration where required.
