Overview

Procurement of four cartridge-based blood gas analysers for supply, delivery, installation, demonstration and commissioning, to be placed for a three-year period at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. This is an open tender by Western Cape Health & Wellness (RCWMCH). Suitable bidders are medical device suppliers with SAHPRA/MCC registration, capable of installation, training, maintenance, consumables supply, and IT/system integration.

Requirements

• Must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) with proof (MAAA number and CSD report) and ensure tax compliance; if non-compliant, 7 working days to cure.
• SAHPRA (or MCC) certificate for manufacturer/distributor/wholesaler of medical devices; provide valid certificate.
• B-BBEE status per WCBD6.1; complete WCBD4; include BBBEE documentation.
• Occupational Health and Safety Agreement (Section 37(2)) submitted with bid.
• Comply with GCC; adhere to 80/20 preferential evaluation; provide full pricing schedules (including consumables) and a maintenance/support plan.
• Provide maintenance plan, uptime target (minimum 98% weekly), service levels (on-site within 4 hours; replacement within 2 hours; full restoration within 6 hours), and after-hours support.
• Equipment ownership terms: machines remain supplier-owned during the 36-month placement; bidder to deliver, install, calibrate, demonstrate, and train; include spare cartridges (3 per department).
• Technical requirements include network integration, automatic result transmission, barcode capability, user access controls, detailed specifications and on-site evaluation possibility.
