Overview

Provision of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems maintenance, repairs and installation at Polokwane International Airport for 36 months. Bidders should be electrical contracting firms with AGL/airfield experience and the following registrations and capabilities: CIDB 3EP+; DoL electrical contractor registration; COIDA compliance; and proven ability to perform ICAO/SACAA-compliant electrical works and safety management onsite.

Requirements

• Supervisor: Recognised Electrical Trade Test; National Diploma NQF 6 (Electrical Heavy/Light Current); AGL Level 2 Certificate.
• Electrician: Recognised Electrical Trade Test; Certified ORHVS; AGL Level 2 Certificate.
• Labourer: N2 Electrical Certificate; AGL Level 1 Certificate.
• Compliance: ICAO Annex 14 and GAAL Aerodrome Manual; ICAO Doc 9137 (parts 6,8,9); ICAO 9157 (parts 4–6); SACAA CARs and CATs.
• Health and safety: OHS Act 85 of 1993; Safety Management Plan; OHS safety file; Access permits (AVOP, PARTAC, AIT); Security awareness; roadworthy vehicle for airside work.
• Documentation: Maintain records, monthly progress reports, asset register, and hand over complete documentation at contract end; invoicing to include required reports.
• Pre-qualifications: CIDB Grade 3EP or higher; COIDA good standing; DoL registration as electrical contractor; CSD registration; SARS tax/compliance provisions.
