Overview

ERWAT seeks bids for the collection, transportation and disposal of screenings and grit from all ERWAT sites for 36 months on an 'as and when required' basis. Bidders should be professional hazardous-waste service providers with relevant licensing, fleet capacity ( skips, back-tipper trucks ), and experience in disposal at registered landfills, operating across ERWAT WCWs in Ekurhuleni, Lesedi and Midvaal. The tender is Open-Tender with a mandatory virtual briefing on 20 August 2026 and closing on 10 September 2026.

Requirements

• Valid Gauteng Province license to collect/dispose hazardous waste; registration/verification at landfill sites.
• Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration and SARS Tax Compliance status (PIN/TCS) or proof via CSD.
• Depending on bid structure, separate tax/tax-clearance evidence for joint ventures/consortia.
• Vehicle fleet and equipment: skips of at least 6 m3, enclosed back-tipper trucks; documented maintenance and readiness; immediate replacement capability (within ~48 hours).
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act; adequate PPE; insurance and Workmen’s Compensation standing; indemnification for third-party risks.
• Availability to operate across ERWAT sites (including 19 WCWs) on a daily basis, with penalties for non-delivery or spillages.
• Possible CIDB designation requirements (listed as N/A in the current doc; verify if applicable).

How to Apply

• Submission deadline: 10 September 2026 at 12:00; mandatory virtual briefing: 20 August 2026 at 10:30 (registration via ERWAT site link) (see VARIOUS - OPS (ERW2605.03).pdf).
• Submission method: hardcopy of the original bid document to ERWAT’s tender box; plus an identical PDF copy emailed to TenderE-Submission@erwat.co.za (subject must state tender reference and bidder name) (see Page 2 of the BSC2 document).
• Documents to complete/submit: official bid forms including MBD1, MBD3.2, MBD4, MBD5, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9; returnable schedules; supporting docs; signed declarations (see MBD list in the docs).
• Registrations/pre-qualifications: CSD registration; SARS Tax Compliance (PIN/TCS); CIDB if required (noted as N/A in the current record); foreign-supplier pre-award questionnaire if applicable.
• Briefing session: compulsory online briefing via Teams; registration required (link on ERWAT site); attendees’ details to be recorded on attendance register.
• Bid documents: downloadable from ERWAT website; hard copies available for a fee (R250) upon request; ensure identical hardcopy and electronic copies.
