Overview

Procurement of refurbishment and renovations of the Control Room and Plant Laboratory at Nsezi WTW. Competent contractors with CIDB 3GB+ are invited to convert the old Nsezi WTP laboratory into a control room with a testing area for 6 months; bidders must meet CIDB and evaluation criteria and submit in accordance with UUW’s tender process.

Requirements

• Active CIDB grading of 3GB or higher.
• Complete Bidders Disclosure (T2.2.2); Tax Compliance Status; CIDB registration; COID Good Standing; Company Registration; attendance at compulsory briefing.
• Compulsory clarification/briefing attendance; no alternatives to tender offered.
• Functionality minimum 70 points; then price and PPPFA-based scoring (80/20 or 90/10); HDI goals: 10 points for 51% Black ownership and 10 for Black women, totaling 20 preference points.
• Returnable documents and certificates (T2 series) including Authority for Signatory, Tenderer’s Experience, Key Personnel, Method Statement, Preliminary Programme, and related registrations (CSD, VAT, COID, etc.).
• Tender validity: 120 days from closing; bid submissions via original plus electronic copy on USB; 24-hour tender box deposit.
• Inspections access, bonds/guarantees, and required certifications as per T1/T2 (SCM053).

How to Apply

• Obtain tender documents by request (email Thobile.Ngcobo@uuw.co.za) during 09h00–15h00, 31 Aug–11 Sep 2026 (SCM053). Attachments include Addendum No. 1 with briefing minutes (Annexure 1).
• Attend compulsory briefing: 14 Sep 2026, Social Lappa, Richards Bay; bring documents for signing (attendance required). Addendum No. 1 requires acknowledgement (T2.2.16) and signing.
• Submit tender offers by 08 Oct 2026 at 12:00 in the Tender Box outside UUW’s main entrance, 310 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg. Outer package must include Tender Number, Title, Closing Date/Time, Tenderer’s Name/Address; paper original plus one USB (SCM053 F.2.13.3).
• Include required registrations and documents: Tax Compliance Status, CIDB 3GB+, COID Good Standing, Company Registration; Proof of attendance at compulsory briefing; Returnable documents (T2.1–T2.59) and any addenda (SCM053).
• Bid documents may be obtained from UUW or its authorized representative; deposit as per Tender Notice (SCM053).
