RELAY OF 11.1KM OF LOWER THUKELA’s GRAVITY PIPELINEClosed

Overview

Construction (relay) of 11.1 km of Lower Thukela’s Gravity Pipeline, to be executed by a CIDB 9CE-rated contractor over about 18 months. Competent contractors with CIDB 9CE, BBBEE and Contract Participation Goals (CPG) experience are invited; the project applies a two-stage evaluation (Functionality then Price and Preference).

Requirements

• CIDB grading: active 9CE.
• Contract Participation Goals: minimum 35% CPG (25% from uMngeni-uThukela area; 10% local).
• Functionality: minimum score of 70 points; followed by Price and Preference (90/10 or 80/20 based on contract value) with SBD 6.1 preference points.
• Compliance/documents: Bidder’s Disclosure (T2.2.2); Tax Compliance Status (TCS) or CSD; COID good standing; Tax PIN; Registration Certificates; proof of attendance at compulsory clarification meeting.
• Returnable schedules: Tenderer’s Experience, Key Personnel, Quality Assurance/Environmental Management, Method Statement, Preliminary Programme, etc. (T2.2.x series).
• Attendance at compulsory clarification meeting and signing requirements; no documents issued at briefing.
• Additional: letters for Performance Guarantee (where required), and evidence for CPG claims.

How to Apply

• Clarification meeting: 02 June 2026 at 10:00, Lower Thukela Water Works (compulsory; bring tender documents for signing; map at provided link).
• Documents issued: electronically by email on request (spha.mthembu@uuw.co.za); during 25–29 May 2026 (working hours) (see Download Tender Document).
• Closing/submission: 02 July 2026, 12:00 (tender box outside 310 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg); ensure outer package includes Tender Number, Title, Closing Date/Time, bidder name and address.

• Required registrations/pre-qualifications: CIDB 9CE; Tax Compliance or CSD; COID; other certificates as listed (T2.2.x).
