Overview

Removal, relocation and reinstall of Gaia-sphere at Iziko South African Museum. The RFQ seeks a contractor to dismantle (where required), lift, transport, reposition and securely reinstall the Gaia Sphere to a new space within about 20 meters, in line with museum standards and health and safety laws. Bidders with artefact-handling, rigging, and installation experience, plus appropriate registrations and insurance, should bid. Gaia-sphere value: ~R68,603.09. Closing: 31 July 2026, 11:00. Requirements

• De-installation, relocation/rigging and reinstallation of Gaia-sphere (within ~20 m); testing and handover.
• Health and safety file compliant; adequate personnel, facilities and equipment.
• Protection of museum property; damage repaired at contractor’s cost; post-work cleaning.
• Administrative pre-qualifications: CSD supplier number, tax status verification; valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; COIDA letter; proof of insurance for all work phases; signed RFQ; detailed pricing on company letterhead (incl. VAT).
• Pricing must be itemised for: de-installation, relocation/rigging, installation; total price used for 80/20 evaluation; breakdown of assumptions required.
• Compliance with 80/20 preference points (HDI/B-BBEE evidence to claim points).
