Removal and Relocation of GaiasphereClosed

Overview

Iziko Museums seeks quotes for the removal and relocation of the Gaiasphere at Iziko South African Museum. Bidders should be experienced in rigging and moving heavy objects, able to supply all labour, supervision, equipment, lifting gear, rigging hardware, transport, testing and commissioning, and to deliver a Health and Safety file compliant with museum standards. Site visits are not compulsory but advisable; submissions are via email and quotes must be valid for 60 days.

Requirements

• Experience in rigging/moving heavy objects; deinstallation, relocation (within ~20 m), and reinstallation.
• Provide all labour, supervision, equipment, lifting gear, rigging hardware, transport, testing and commissioning.
• Supply a compliant Health and Safety file.
• Mandatory documents: Central Supplier Database report with supplier details, Tax Status Verification Pin, tax registration number; detailed pricing on company letterhead; valid BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; signed RFQ; valid Tax Certificate/Pin; COIDA letter of Good Standing; proof of insurance for deinstallation/relocation/reinstallation.
• Pricing must be clear (incl. VAT) with a 60-day quote validity; total project value is referenced as R68,000 (for context).
• Preference points determined under 80/20 system; demonstrate compliance with PPFA and specific goals (e.g., B-BBEE/HDI considerations).

• Site Visit: Not compulsory; arrange via technical representative.
