REMOVAL, TRANSPORTATION AND DISPOSAL OR REUSE OF DEWATERED WASTEWATER SLUDGE FROM VARIOUS WASTEWATER TREATMENT WORKS WITHIN THE SALDANHA BAY MUNICIPALITY FO A PERIOD ENDING 30 JUNE 2029.

Overview

Removal, transportation and disposal or reuse of dewatered wastewater sludge from wastewater treatment works within the Saldanha Bay Municipality for a period ending 30 June 2029. SBM invites experienced waste-management/environmental-service providers to bid. Suitable bidders include contractors with sludge handling, transport and disposal or reuse capabilities, who meet SCM rules (CSD registration, SARS tax clearance, VAT where applicable, BBBEE, locality). A compulsory information session is scheduled (see document) and bids are evaluated under an 80/20 Preference Points system (price vs specific goals).

Requirements

• Central Supplier Database registration and tax compliance (SARS Tax Clearance or equivalent; VAT if contract value > R2.3m).
• BBBEE status certificate or sworn affidavit.
• Locality proof (points for SBM/locality; additional points for West Coast/WC/within WC boundaries).
• Proof of municipal accounts or valid lease/ownership documentation for locality eligibility.
• Authorized signatory with board/partner resolutions; attach Annexure with signatories.
• Three relevant previous contracts for removal/transport/disposal or reuse of dewatered wastewater sludge, with contactable references (Annexure 2).
• Complete compulsory MBD forms (MBD1, MBD4, MBD6.1, MBD8, MBD9) and submit with pricing schedule; adhere to GCC/SCC and contract terms.
• Attendance at compulsory briefing; pricing based on Pricing Schedule; 80/20 preference rules apply.

How to Apply

• Documents available via the e-tender portal; non-refundable tender deposit of R306.00 payable to Saldanha Bay Municipality.
• Compulsory information session: 13 October 2026 at 12:00, Municipal Council Chamber, 12 Main Road, Vredenburg.
• Submit bids in a sealed envelope to the Tender Box, Ground Floor, Investment Centre, 15 Main Road, Vredenburg by 12:00 on 30 October 2026; outside envelope must clearly mark tender number and description.
