Overview

The tender requests rendering a complete, well equipped and suitably qualified lifesaving function in the Greater Knysna Area for 36 months (including December and Easter holiday periods). Suitable bidders are service providers with lifeguarding/lifesaving capabilities, staffed with qualified personnel and equipped to operate during peak holiday periods, aligned with municipal procurement policies.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 out of 30 points to proceed; bids evaluated under the 80/20 preference points system.
• Compliance with the Council’s Supply Chain Management Policy, the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) 2000, and the 2022 amended regulations.
• No bids from persons in the service of the State. Bids must be submitted on the issued bid documentation.
• Bids must be sealed and delivered to the Supply Chain Management Unit, Finance Building, Queen Street, Knysna; closing time 12:00 on 14 Oct 2026; bids opened at 12:05 on the same day. Late or unmarked bids will not be considered.
• Bids remain valid for 180 days; validity extensions may be requested by the Municipality.
• The Municipality may withdraw, readvertise, reject, or accept part of a bid; no obligation to accept the lowest or highest scoring bid.
