Overview

This open tender is for the renovation and completion of the Digital Hub at Cheptais VTC, including structural cabling, trucking/ICT cabling, routers, Wi-Fi, UPS, four workstation setups, 30 chairs, and 12 extensions of Local Area Network. Contractors with civil, electrical, and ICT/network capabilities should bid; joint ventures are allowed. Eligibility includes NCA registration before contract signing, evidence of local content (40% inputs from Kenyan sources for foreign bidders), tax compliance, and absence of debarment or conflicts of interest.

Requirements

• Eligibility and integrity: comply with PPRA/Public Procurement Act, including anti-corruption declarations and Certificate of Independent Tender Determination; no debarment.
• JV and liability: if bidding as a JV, all members jointly and severally liable; JV agreement or letter of intent required.
• Local content and origin: foreign bidders must prove 40% local inputs; origin and environmental compliance as applicable.
• Professional qualifications: provide Form of Tender, schedules, Joint Venture documents (if applicable), authorization, qualifications information, and a technical proposal.
• Registrations: National Construction Authority (NCA) registration required before contract signing; tax compliance certificate.
• Tender security: submit as specified (Tender Security or Tender-Securing Declaration).
• Site access and information: site visit opportunities may be offered; costs borne by bidder.
• Documentation and clarity: all documents must be in English (with translations if needed) and submitted as required in the tender documents.
