Overview

REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS AT BHISHO HOSPITAL – a 24-month construction contract for general building works. Bidders must have CIDB 8GB+ (or higher) and be capable of delivering hospital-scale renovations; JBCC Edition 6.2 (2018) will govern the contract. Approximately 30% of subcontracting must go to SMMEs (25% local, 5% ICDP region). Documents are free to download; briefing is non-mandatory but recommended.

Requirements

• CIDB: 8GB or higher; CIDB registration must be active; joint ventures allowed with lead partner 7GB+ or higher and combined rating meeting 8GB or higher criteria.
• Functionality threshold: minimum 60/100; must provide 3 valid project references with project value and scheduling details; key staff CVs and qualifications (Contracts Manager, Site Agent, Foreman, OHS) with SACPCMP where applicable.
• Subcontracting: ~30% to SMMEs (25% local, 5% ICDP).
• Sub-contractors: Electrical CIDB 5EB or higher; Mechanical CIDB 4ME or higher.
• Returnables and compliance: SBD 1/4/6.1, Compulsory Enterprise Questionnaire, POPIA consent, CIDB/ CRS certificates, CSD registration, tax status/PIN, and Form of Offer and Acceptance.
• Tax/Compliance: ensure tax matters are in order; SARS PIN or CSD verification required; Compensation Fund or approved insurer for conditions.
• Contract and procurement rules: JBCC 6.2; PPPFA 2022, 90/10 price-quality balance; 120-day tender validity; 21-day window for insurer performance bond after appointment.
• Documentation: complete priced Bills of Quantities; project references; company profiles; capacity details; signatures of authorized signatories.
