Overview

Procurement of repairs, maintenance and supply of hardware for the medical gas reticulation at Frere Hospital, to be used as and when needed, on a rate-based contract for up to 24 months. Suitable bidders are those with hospital medical gas installation/maintenance experience, SAQCC Medical Gas Artisan registration, and ability to provide ongoing standby, emergency repairs, and materials. The contract is capped at R1 million and subject to budget/DOH priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years in installation, repair and maintenance of medical gas in hospital environments; provide job cards and COCs for the past 3 years.
• Registration of a Medical Gas Artisan with SAQCC (proof required).
• Work performed in accordance with SANS 739-2009; OHASA compliance.
• Standby duties with a 30-minute on-site response time.
• All work orders must be issued via the Clinical Engineering Management System (CEMIS); work done without a works order is non-chargeable.
• All completed work must be documented with a Quotation/BOQ, Signed Job Card, and a COC; official works order number to be displayed on documents.
• Copper piping must be medical-grade Class 1 (as specified).
• Pricing to be firm for 24 months; copper price adjustments allowed if copper rises >15% (with proof and proportional adjustment only on copper items).
• Suppliers may be required to supply all listed items and adhere to Special Conditions; contract will not exceed R1 million or the contract period.
• Returnable documents: SBD 1, SBD 3.1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1; Latest CSD report; bank confirmation (not older than 3 months); tax compliance PIN/CSD number.
