Overview

Repairs, Renovations & Rehabilitation (RRR) of Grey Hospital under a 36-month contract; CIDB Grade 9GB or higher General Building contractors with hospital renovation experience should bid (Tender Document). Approximately 30% of subcontracting is to SMMEs (25% local, 5% ICDP) in the region. Documents are downloadable; briefing is non-compulsory at Grey Hospital; closing 14 July 2026.

Requirements

• CIDB grading: 9GB or higher (or able to register prior to evaluation) in GB class; joint ventures allowed with lead partner 8GB+ and combined grade meeting requirements (CIDB/CRS) (Tender Data).
• Active CIDB registration; returnable documents completed (SBD1, SBD4, SBD6.1), Compulsory Enterprise Questionnaire, VAT/TCS/CSD compliance.
• Proof of CSD registration and SARS tax compliance PIN; VAT status if VAT vendor; project references (minimum 3) with CVs for key staff; JV agreements if applicable.
• 36-month contract terms under JBCC Edition 6.2 (2018); EPWP and SMME subcontracting targets (approx. 30%).
• Health and safety compliance; SACPCMP registration for Construction OHS Officer; team qualifications (Contracts Manager, Site Agent, Foreman).
• Tender validity 120 days; adherence to three-phase evaluation: Functionality, Administrative Compliance, Price & Preference (PPPFA 2022, 90/10).

• Non-compulsory briefing: 24 June 2026 at Grey Hospital, 11:00, meet at the hospital main entrance (see Tender Document for coordinates).
• Submit in sealed envelopes marked SCMU5-26/27-0025; deposit in the Bid Box at Qhasana Building, Bhisho, by 14 July 2026, 11:00.
• Required submissions: Form of Offer and Acceptance; Complete priced Bills of Quantities; SBD1, SBD4, SBD6.1; Compulsory Enterprise Questionnaire; CSD proof; Tax/VAT details; JV agreements if relevant; CVs and qualifications for project team; project references (minimum 3).
• After award: provide an approved insurer undertaking for a Performance Bond within 21 days; include any updated CIDB/Tax/VAT documents as required.
• Clarifications: written responses up to 7 working days before closing; addenda must be acknowledged.
