Overview

KNH invites proposals for the commercialization of the KNH Plaza Pharmacy and framework contracting for the supply of clinical products. Eligible bidders are pharmaceutical wholesalers/distributors with licenses and capacity to operate a Plaza Pharmacy, including a valid PPB license, superintendent pharmacist clearance, licensed premises, and proven turnover. Requirements

• Must be a wholesaler/distributor with a valid Kenya PPB license and superintendent pharmacist license; premises registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Minimum average annual turnover of Ksh 2 billion (audited evidence required).
• Tender security: Ksh 500,000 valid for 149 days; original and copy bound, serialized.
• Compliance documents: incorporation/registration, valid Tax Compliance Certificate, Power of Attorney, Director/shareholding details (CR12/CR13), Board/ownership information, and written declarations (ethics, non-debarment, independence).
• Mandatory site visit certificate; attendance required (KNH Plaza Pharmacy) and proof to be included.
• No conflicts of interest, no debarment, and compliance with anti-fraud/anti-corruption rules; sign Certificate of Independent Tender Determination and related self-declarations.
• Joint Ventures allowed (max 2 members); no multiple bids by the same firm in separate proposals.
• Proposals must be prepared in English, bound in the specified format, and be valid for 119 days (subject to extension).

How to Apply

• Submission deadline: 29 June 2026 at 10:00 AM; deliver in a single sealed outer envelope containing two sealed envelopes: TECHNICAL PROPOSAL and FINANCIAL PROPOSAL (original + copies). Do not open Financial Proposal with Technical Proposal. (see KNH/RFP/008/2026-2031)
• Submission method: hard copy delivery to the KNH Tender Box at the Supply Chain Department entrance; may not be electronic.
• Documents to submit: complete Technical Proposal (Tech Forms 1–7) and complete Financial Proposal (Section 4 forms), plus all supporting documents listed in the mandatory eligibility pack (tax, licenses, PPB license, site visit certificate, declarations, etc.). Include power of attorney and the required independent tender determination form.
• Pre-qualification/registrations: tax clearance, PPB license, practicing license for superintendent pharmacist, corporate registrations, and potential JV documents if applicable.
• Clarifications: may be requested in writing to KNH procurement contacts; clarifications routed via KNH email addresses.

Notes: The award uses a Revenue Sharing formula on gross profit (highest hospital share wins after QCBS evaluation), with technical and financial scores weighting 75% and 25% respectively; standstill period of 14 days.
