REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF SERVICE PROVIDER TO DO MINOR ACCIDENT REPAIRS ON THE SEVENTEEN IRIZAR BUS BODIES, ON AN AS AND WHEN REQUIRED BASIS, COUNTRYWIDE, FOR A PERIOD OF 3 YEARS

Overview

RFP to appoint a service provider to perform minor accident repairs on 17 IRIZAR bus bodies nationwide for 3 years. PRASA seeks a national bus body repair partner able to perform minor external repairs (including windscreen/side-window replacements) to OEM specifications, with a national footprint, OEM paint capabilities, and adherence to warranty terms.

Requirements

• National footprint: workshop within 100 km of depots; provide municipal rates/taxes proof.
• Compliance and certifications: JV/consortium arrangements with valid RMI Certificate for a Body Repairer; RMI registration; CSD registration; tax compliance; BBBEE level 2+ (specific goals for black ownership).
• Technical capability: OEM-approved paints/colors and a paint mixing plant; OEM parts and components; Schedule 1 MOU compliance.
• Facilities and safety: suitable facility with spray booth, compliant with relevant SA acts (OHSA, environmental acts).
• Delivery and quality: defined service levels, on-time delivery, quarterly PRASA reviews, potential contract termination for non-compliance.
• Personnel and references: experienced artisans with trade tests; provide reference letters for similar works; staff experience requirements.
• Documentation and process: two-envelope submission (technical/compliance and pricing); complete Annexure C (pricing), Form C, SBDs; confidentiality and anti-collusion safeguards.
