REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) TO APPOINT INDEPENDENT TECHNICAL ADVISORS TO CONDUCT A REVIEW OF GAS EXPLORATION DATA AND PILOT PROJECT RESULTS

Overview

IDC seeks to appoint independent technical advisors to conduct a technical review of gas exploration data and pilot project results for a Coal Bed Methane (CBM) project in Botswana. Bidders should be consulting firms with CBM/unconventional gas, reservoir engineering, geology/geophysics, production engineering, LNG/gas commercialization, and independent due-diligence experience. The assignment requires professionals registered with recognised bodies (Pr Eng with ECSA or equivalent, or Pr.Sci.Nat with SACNASP or equivalent; international equivalents acceptable). The work is a three‑month engagement starting after award; bid responses are valid for 120 days. Requirements

• Professional registration: team must include a Pr Eng or Pr Sci Nat; or equivalents; proof of registration required.
• Relevant CBM/unconventional gas experience: independent advisory, due diligence, and resource evaluation; minimum of three contactable references and three case studies.
• Clear methodology and work plan: detailed approach to assessing subsurface data, pilot performance, deliverability, development assumptions, risks, and QA.
• Qualifications of key personnel: team structure, CVs, and evidence of reservoir, geology, production, LNG/gas expertise.
• Returnable schedules and compliance: Schedule 1–4, Annexures 1–8 (including tax compliance, B-BBEE, disclosures, shareholdings, POPIA where applicable), Board resolutions, and CSD/tax details as required.
