REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL TO LEASE THE PREMISES IN EXTENT OF 1335m2 AT LINK ROAD FOR THE PORT OF CAPE TOWN FOR A PERIOD OF UP TO TEN (10) YEARS.

Overview

The tender is a Request for Proposal to lease the Premises at Link Road (1335m2) for the Port of Cape Town for up to 10 years. It targets property developers/investors with capability to refurbish and operate in a port environment, for Port Marine Activity. The lease is on an “as is” basis, with the bidder responsible for fit-out and compliance, and for all refurbishment if required. A non-compulsory briefing is on 14 Oct 2026 (MS Teams) with a site visit by arrangement; submissions are via Transnet’s eTender portal, closing 2 Nov 2026 at 12:00. Access to the property and inspections are advised prior to submitting proposals.

Requirements

• Tax compliance: provide SARS PIN/TCS or ensure Tax Compliance status; if in a JV/consortium, each party must provide its own status.
• Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration and verification; foreign bidders may need SA incorporation for lease.
• B-BBEE: submit a valid certificate or sworn affidavit; JV consolidated score applies.
• Returnable documents: SBD 1, rental offer (Section 4), CVs, reference letters, bank rating, business plan, maintenance/capital expenditure plan, environmental plan, etc.
• Compliance with Employment Equity Act and DPIP/FPPO policies where applicable.
• Security clearance may be required; site inspections before submission; lease negotiations post-evaluation.
• WBS/project schedule for refurbishment and cashflow/financial viability to demonstrate going concern.
