Overview

This RFP is for the removal, supply and installation of auditorium seats at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria. Bids are invited from contractors with interior fit-out/seating installation capability, upholstery, and related metalwork, with CIDB registration of 4GB or higher (or a compliant joint venture). The scope covers fixed seating for the CSIR ICC auditoria (Diamond 450-seat and Ruby 136-seat formats) including removal of existing seats and installation of new chairs, plus disposal of debris.

Requirements

• CIDB registration: 4GB or higher (or JV with combined 4GB+ and lead partner appropriate).
• Mandatory technical qualifications: company profile with organogram, Project Lead CV, Welder CV, Method Statement, Project Plan; minimum three client reference letters.
• Essential returnable documents: Annexure A, E, F, J; BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit; CIDB registration; CSD/TCS as applicable; sample chair/fabric approval; safety and quality documentation (Safety File, QCP).
• Technical must meet: SABS 1528-1 compliance, 5-year warranty, environmental/safety requirements, and site-compatibility for phased installation.
• Pricing: Annexure D Pricing Schedule; all-firm prices; weekend/night installation acceptance; inclusive costs.
• Compliance: POPI, tax/compliance proofs (TCS or CSD), and no default/listed supplier status.

• Enquiries deadline: 21 August 2026 by 16h30 (via tender@csir.co.za).
• Closing date: 27 August 2026 at 16h30.
• Submission method: electronic to tender@csir.co.za in two emails - PART 1 Technical Proposal and PART 2 Pricing Proposal (subject references must include RFP No.). If >25 MB, use multiple emails.
• Documents to submit (attachments in the package): Annexure A (SBD 1), Annexure E (Proposal Form), Annexure F (Certificate), Annexure G (Preference Points), Annexure H (SBD 4), Annexure I (RFP Declaration), Annexure J (Mutual NDA), Annexure K (Drawings), and Annexure D (Pricing Schedule) per the package. Include technical documents (client references, CVs, method statement, project plan) and essential returnable documents (BBBEE, CIDB, TCS/CSD).
